Trip Details & Highlights
Journey to the cradle of Western Civilization and the classical world on this Aegean voyage, exploring the preserved treasures and mythical and scapes of ancient Greece and Turkey. Our home for this expedition is an elite, five-star LE BOUGAINVILLE. This small ship has only 92 suites and staterooms, each with a private balcony, and is able to moor in small ports of call inaccessible to larger vessels. Our journey will take us to Delos, Mykonos, Pátmos Santorini, and Rhodes – ancient destinations steeped in mythology and history. Sail Turkey’s sun-drenched coast to visit Ephesus, the most spectacularly preserved Greco-Roman city in the world. We will visit the scenic wonder of the Meteora, where 14th and 15th century Orthodox monasteries crown soaring sandstone cliffs. Walk through the Sanctuary of Asklepios at Epidaurus, where the history of early Hellenic and Roman natural healing practices are engraved onto the ancient stelae. Walk the Sacred Way of Delos, and discover ancient Akrotiri – the “Minoan Pompeii”. Enjoy exclusive cultural enrichments and culinary demonstrations and the Island Life forum with residents of the island of Pátmos.
