Affinity Groups

Reflecting interests and backgrounds, our affinity groups—people connected by a common interest or goal—contribute to leadership development, policy formation and advocacy events and activities, while providing personal and professional networking opportunities for members. Currently, we have five affinity groups: African American Alumni Association, ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ Pride: The LGBT Alumni Network, Jewish Alumni Network, Undergraduate Student Government and the Latinx Alumni Association.

Each affinity group connects alumni with similar goals in mind. You can help your group achieve those goals by working with a liaison from The Alumni Association and joining the group’s leadership team. Created by The Alumni Association Board, this guide gives an accurate picture of what is involved with affinity group leadership:

African American Alumni Association

The African American Alumni Association of ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ was officially established in October 2009. The Association elected its officers and board of directors, as well as began populating their committees during Alumni Weekend 2010.

ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ Pride: The LGBT Alumni Network is open to all lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and allied alumni, faculty, staff and friends of the university.

Latinx Alumni Association

The Latinx Alumni Association strives to build a supportive and active alumni organization within the larger ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ community through networking and fellowship opportunities. Also, the Latinx Alumni Association seeks to support current Latino students, in alignment with ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½â€™s core value of diversity and inclusion.

Jewish Alumni Network

In collaboration with , the Jewish Alumni Network was recently established to help Jewish alumni reconnect with old friends, find out who's in your area, and learn about alumni events. You can also help provide tips for recent Jewish graduates or alumni relocating into your area, network socially and professionally, and meet with current students and give them a reason to stay connected!
