ǿմý researchers Jesse Honsky, Marjorie Edguer, Elizabeth Click, Barbara Burgess Van Aken, and Matthew Salerno recently published “Mindfulness matters in the classroom: A pilot study of a university-wide classroom-based brief mindfulness program” in the Journal of American College Health.
The authors noted that “Students who participated in the semester-long program reported reduced levels of stress and increased mindfulness" (2023, p. 1). The idea of this research project began with an interdisciplinary cohort of ǿմý colleagues participating in UCITE’s Learning Fellows program during the spring 2019 semester. That small cohort shared information about mindfulness and the types of practices that may be useful with students in classroom settings. Interest grew, , and the group created “” at ǿմý.
