- What is your role and what projects will you be working on?
In my role, I am responsible for facilitating direct nutrition and physical activity educational programming and Policy, Systems, and Environmental (PSE) approaches with local, community-based partners in areas of high food insecurity throughout Cuyahoga County.
- Where are you from?
Though I was raised in Cleveland, Ohio, I was born in Toledo, Ohio. My family relocated to Cleveland when I was eight years old.
- What is you background in?
Community health education is the foundation of my career. As a consultant and advocate, I have substantial experience identifying community needs and implementing methods to promote personal development and wellness results. I activate community members through training, community organizing, and one-on-one coaching in partnership with educational institutions, hospitals, and mental health agencies.
- What excites you about joining the Swetland Center?
In my role, I will be able to go across the community and share knowledge that will have a direct impact on general health outcomes while elevating the voices and concerns of individuals who frequently feel disregarded.
- What is your favorite outdoor space in Cleveland or a place you want to explore?
Majestic Meadows Alpacas & Boutique is one of my favorite outdoor locations. It is about 40 minutes away from Cleveland. Guests on their self-guided tour can enter the gates for up-close interaction and alpaca feeding.
- What piece of advice have you been given or quote/statement that is significant to you?
"I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel"
