Martinique is a Program Assistant at the Mary Ann Swetland Center for environmental health, where she focuses on the SNAP-Ed program. A Cleveland, OH native, she holds a B.A. in Business and Communication from Hiram College. With a strong background in grassroots organizing and policy advocacy, Martinique has served as a Policy Fellow with the Urban Leaders Fellowship in Atlanta, where she worked on workforce development and chronic student absenteeism in partnership with the Annie E. Casey Foundation.
As a Field Fellow with FoodFirst, the Institute for Food and Development Policy, Martinique developed innovative nutrition education and curriculum designed to be implemented in schools and communities, helping individuals learn about health and wellness through an artistic lens. Her work with FoodFirst emphasized the importance of connecting food systems education with creative expression, making complex health concepts accessible and engaging.
With over a decade of experience as a teaching artist in the Greater Cleveland area, Martinique has been deeply involved in educational initiatives. She also served two years with AmeriCorps, advancing to the Role of Recruitment Manager. In her current role at the Swetland Center, she is dedicated to enhancing community health through education and outreach.
