Megan Paskey is a Research Associate for the Swetland Center focusing on the Nourishing Power Network project. Megan comes to Case Western via Indiana where she was the Community Food Systems Manager in the Division of Nutrition and Physical Activity at the Indiana Department of Health. There she worked with community partners to strengthen local and regional food systems across the state to improve nutrition security. This work included strengthening points along the supply chain, increasing access to local food channels, work at the intersection of healthcare, and much more.
Through the administration of numerous federal grant programs and statewide food access pilots, Megan worked with local stakeholders to fund, support implementation, and evaluate grassroots projects, totaling more than $10 million in investment into Indiana communities. All of Megan's Indiana work was done under the Indiana SNAP-Education program, centering equity and focusing on SNAP-eligible Hoosiers across all 92 counties. Megan holds a Master of Public Health from Tufts University and a Master of Nutrition, focusing on Agriculture, Food and the Environment, from Tufts Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy.
Megan was raised in the Youngstown, Ohio area and currently resides in Tremont with her husband and puppy, Stanley!
