Katie Poppe is a Research Associate with the Community Nutrition staff. She is committed to empowering community members and conducting research that can be directly applied to make our surrounding communities, and beyond, healthier places for all people. She grew up in Columbus, OH and graduated from Miami University (of Ohio) with a Bachelor's degree in Nutrition. She also received her Master of Public Health degree from The Ohio State University.

Katie is a registered dietitian and prior to the Swetland center, she helped individuals improve their health through one-on-one dietary counseling in the clinical setting in Ohio for over six years. Throughout her training and work as a registered dietitian, Katie has had the opportunity to engage with community-engaged and sustainable foods systems work on the national and local levels. Katie is also a Master Gardener and enjoys vegetable gardening and cooking.
