The Swetland Center is always excited to share the accomplishments of its team members. The Center is proud to announce that two of our doctoral scholars, India Gill and Gwen Donely, have successfully defended their dissertations and have or will finish their PhD programs in 2022.

India Gill successfully defended her dissertation about investigating the neighborhood context of racial inequities in child asthma emergency healthcare. Her dissertation research explores the impact that structural racism has on child asthma. India will be graduating with her PhD in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from the Department of Population and Quantitative Health Sciences this August.

Gwen Donely successfully defended her dissertation, which focused on experiences of crisis and how they relate to population health, on March 25, 2022. After finishing at Swetland, she is beginning a postdoctoral fellowship with the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the Administration for Children and Families.

Congratulations to both India and Gwen!
