Being Sustainable as an Employee

Whether faculty, staff or administration, we are all part of the community at ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½. Embedding sustainability into your classes isn't as hard as you'd think and we'd love to supply you with resources. Staff and administration can consider their purchases, waste and everyday actions. Our campus culture makes a huge impact on future generations. We want them to care for their future too.

Your Involvement

We'd love for you to be a part of our work at the Office of Energy & Sustainability. We hold nearly monthly Green Bag lunches for public participation. You're also welcome to join a Green Team or just check out our green tips page.

Your Office

Every office at ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ should have a recycle bin. If yours is broken or misplaced, just let us know and we'll replace it.

If you find yourself doing some end of the semester file purging, be sure to recycle as much as is possible. If you have an excessive amount of recycling, we will be happy to furnish you with larger receptacles.

Your Health

Sustainability encompasses three facets: planet, people and profit (also termed environment, equality, and economy). Though it is common to focus most on the environmental and monetary sides of sustainability, people are a big part of the effort as well. The human aspect of sustainability focuses on human rights, hunger, and health. At ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½, we have a strong health and wellness program from which you can benefit. ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ employees are eligible for a low-cost membership to the . One to One offers many programs including yoga, personal training, massage, pilates, running clubs and walking clubs (many of which are free) as well as free parking and babysitting. Additional campus-wide wellness programs including Health Risk Appraisals, Biometric Screenings, and Tobacco Attestation help. Learn more at
