While it may seem that we’ve just come back from winter break, deadlines for summer work opportunities for students are already looming. One such opportunity is right here at ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ and hosted by the Support of Undergraduate Research & Creative Endeavors (SOURCE) within the Summer Undergraduate Research in Energy & Sustainability (SURES) program.
The SURES program provides accepted students the opportunity to earn a $3500 stipend for 10 weeks of summer research in an area related to energy and sustainability. In addition to the stipend, SURES participants will be supported in their research through weekly lunch seminars on topics related to sustainability and research generally. SURES participants are given the opportunity to present on their research topics to each other through the program, and also at one of the Intersections events during the academic year.
Interested students are encouraged to develop a project and seek out a faculty mentor who is willing to advise their summer research. The SOURCE office is willing and able to help interested students identify appropriate faculty mentors. Eligible students must be enrolled as a student for the 2017-2018 school year. Applications are due on March 10th, 2017. The SURES program runs from May 30 to August 4, 2017.
The Office for Sustainability often advises research related to ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½â€™s sustainability goals and climate action programs. If you are an eligible SURES student who would like to work with the Office for Sustainability for the summer of 2017, please contact us at sustainability@case.edu to discuss your research interest!
More information on the SURES program can be found here.
