Every year, students find research or creative endeavor opportunities overseas. These can be structured (i.e. through an established program) or unstructured (i.e. independent research or faculty research). The Undergraduate Research Office and ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½â€™s Office of Education Abroad can help you explore, apply for and/or coordinate these experiences.
Structured Research Abroad programs
- Arcadia University’s
- (Research Internships in Science and Engineering)
- National Science Foundation’s (NSF-REU)
- is seeking summer undergraduate research students, especially in natural sciences, neurosciences, and environmental sciences. Interested students must be nominated by the Study Abroad Office. The program includes housing, travel stipend, and academic credit. Students who do not have identified projects, the study abroad office needs to submit your application by November 1, 2024. For students who find their own project, the application from study abroad can be submitted by January 1, 2025. Projects that are already identified as being open to students can be found .

Unstructured Research Abroad Opportunities
Research has become global and many of our professors have international research partners. The Undergraduate Research Office recommends that students speak with faculty about international research opportunities. While this is a more self-driven process than with structured programs, the Undergraduate Research Office (in conjunction with ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½â€™s Office of Education Abroad) can help formalize this process by directing students to financial resources and providing emergency and medical insurance, and managing the risks.
