The first author and former postdoctoral fellow, Dr. Amy Fisher, highlights the crucial impact of afterschool settings in nurturing Social-Emotional learning (SEL) skills beyond traditional school hours. It highlights the positive impact of the SEL curriculum on student development, such as improved academic performance and career prospects. Additionally, the study identifies program engagement as a significant predictor of SEL enhancement, underscoring the importance of after-school engagement for students' emotional and social growth.
