Matthew Tien, MD, Co-Chair MetroHealth Lead Coalition
Dr Tien is a practicing pediatrician at MetroHealth where he serves as Associate Director of Clinical Informatics and co-Chair of the Metrohealth Lead Coalition. He earned his medical degree from ǿմý and completed post-graduate training at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle. As co-Chair of the MetroHealth Lead Coalition he coordinates lead prevention efforts within the MetroHealth system in collaboration with community partners, increasing lead screening completion rates from 56% to 72%, improving the coordination of services of their dedicated Pediatric Lead Clinic, and starting a neighborhood outreach home visiting program. These successes have led to invitations to present to the Ohio Children’s Legislative caucus and to serve on the City of Cleveland Lead Testing and Screening commission and the Ohio AAP Lead Advisory Board. He is delighted to be involved in this crucial work – his pediatric grand rounds for his department earlier this year was titled: “Lead Prevention – the Battle for the Future of Cleveland.”
