Dr. Amy Fisher, Schubert Center Postdoctoral Scholar, will talk about the interconnectedness of racism and ableism within the school system by looking at research, policy, and practice. She will draw on her own experience as a school and clinical psychologist and share results from a project that experimentally looked at educator bias. Additionally, Dr. Fisher will weave in how her own racial identity development impacted her career and the move from practitioner to researcher.
