The Schubert Center is delighted to introduce Amy Fisher, PhD, who has joined the center as our first Post Doctoral scholar. Dr. Fisher graduated from the University of Kentucky with a degree in School Psychology. After spending six years working as a school psychologist near Nashville, TN, where she observed subtle differences in responses to student behavior, she returned to academia to better understand these biases.
Dr. Fisher's research focuses on issues of equitable education in policy and practice that perpetuate disparities for K-12 students at the intersection of race and ability. She will support the Center's research and develop new initiatives.
"I am so thrilled to be working with such talented and thoughtful scholars in the Schubert Center, and look forward to getting to know all of the Schubert Associates better," Dr. Fisher writes. "Please feel free to reach out to me via email anytime just to chat, give words of wisdom, or collaborate. I am currently remote from Louisville, KY, but plan to transition to Cleveland in August and am always looking for recommendations for delicious restaurants and hiking spots." Dr. Fisher can be reached at aef96@case.edu.
