Find out how the MetroHealth System ensures that children and young people have access to health care at the next Schubert Center for Child Studies event, titled “Innovative Partnerships for Healthy Children and Youth.” The event will take place Tuesday, Jan. 12, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Tinkham Veale University Center ballroom A.

This panel presentation will describe how MetroHealth’s partnerships with the Department of Children and Family Services and the Cleveland Metropolitan School District have helped provide health care to children. Respondents will discuss findings concerning service to special populations, lessons learned and policy implications.

Two health care professionals will speak at the event:

  • Christine Alexander-Rager, associate professor of family medicine at the School of Medicine and chairman of family medicine at MetroHealth
  • Nazha Abughali, professor of pediatrics in the School of Medicine and chair of the Department of Pediatrics at MetroHealth

The respondents will be:

  • Deborah Aloshen, director of nursing and health services in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District
  • Jacqueline McCray, resources and placement deputy director at the Cuyahoga County Division of Child and Family Services
