Dear Students of ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½,
You will soon have the opportunity to share your thoughts about ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ through an important survey. This survey is part of a process called accreditation, which is how schools like ours ensure they are meeting the high standards expected of a top-tier institution.
What is Accreditation?
Accreditation is like a report card for universities. It’s how the (HLC)—an organization that evaluates colleges and universities—makes sure ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ continues to provide a high-quality education, effective student support and a great overall experience. This process helps confirm that:
- Your degree carries weight and credibility.
- ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ remains eligible for federal funding, which supports scholarships and financial aid.
- Credits earned here can transfer smoothly to other schools.
Every 10 years, the HLC reviews ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ to reaffirm our accreditation. This process is a comprehensive review, and in 2025 we will undergo this important evaluation. The HLC carefully examines how well we’re doing in key areas such as teaching, campus resources, financial stability, and more, ensuring we continue to meet high standards and support the academic success of our community.
Why Does This Matter to You?
Accreditation impacts everything from the value of your degree to the resources available to you as a student. That’s why your voice is so important!
How You Can Help
- Take the Survey: On Feb. 3, President Kaler will share a link to a survey where you can share your experience at ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½. Your honest feedback is crucial.
- Join the Conversation: During the HLC site visit on April 14–15, 2025, I anticipate that you'll have the chance to attend forums and meet with the review team from the HLC.
Your insights will help us highlight what makes ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ exceptional while showing areas where we can grow. Thank you for taking part in this important process.
Sincerely,
Joy K. Ward
Provost and Executive Vice President
