Jereme Mellenthin, MPAS, PA-C is an Assistant Professor for the Physician Assistant Program in the ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ School of Medicine. Jereme received a Bachelor of Science with Honors in Zoology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1997 and a Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Chatham University in 2002. He has extensively travelled and worked as a physician assistant, starting in coastal North Carolina, in a rural family practice. He then worked in primary care with the National Health Service in London, UK and taught at one of the UK’s first physician associate schools at the University of Hertfordshire. Following this, Jereme worked as a Foreign Service Medical Provider for the US Department of State at the US embassies in Moldova and Turkmenistan. He and his family returned to Cleveland in 2013, where he continues to work in the Emergency Department at Cleveland Clinic.
Jereme has continued to stay active in teaching and precepting physician assistants giving lectures at Lake Erie College and ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½, precepting students in family practice and now in the ED, giving leadership lectures to new PA’s for Cleveland Clinic and serving as a mentor for new hires in the ED.
Jereme is passionate in learning about other cultures. Starting from his time as a Peace Corps volunteer in Ukraine, to his travels for work in the Middle East, to vacations throughout the world, he and his family are dedicated to learning through immersion, speaking new languages, and trying new foods. He is excited to share his passion of learning with his students, helping them to become more emotionally intelligent and compassionate caregivers. Jereme currently lives in Highland Heights with his spouse and two children and their two dogs.
