Natalia and Victoria are the founders of ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½â€™s Physician Assistant Student Advocates for Latino and Underrepresented Diversity (PA SALUD). The mission of this organization is to highlight the students’ commitment to advocating for diversity, especially within Latino and underrepresented communities. The newly formed society is centered around increasing awareness and education about health disparities and organizing community outreach events for underserved populations, such as the local Latino community in Cleveland.
They will use their award funds to plan and execute community events that support their mission.
1st year students
Sarah Joergensen and Annalise Presutti received grant funds for their Patient Perspectives program. Patient Perspectives is a speaker series that was started to bring more patient voices into the classroom. These panels provide an opportunity for our peers to hear directly from patients about their lived experience of chronic illness and what they want their future providers to know. They are excited to expand this program to a wider audience across ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ with the help of this grant.
We can't wait to see how these students move towards their goals of interconnectedness and inclusivity. Well done!
