Darrell Hulisz, Rph, PharmD is an Associate Professor of Family Medicine and Community Health in the School of Medicine at ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½. He also holds a clinical faculty appointment at Ohio Northern University, College of Pharmacy. Dr. Hulisz received his BS in Pharmacy from the University of Toledo & Doctor of Pharmacy from the Medical University of South Carolina. In addition, he completed a HRSA federal fellowship in substance abuse.
Dr. Hulisz has published over 70 papers in the medical and pharmacy literature, has lectured extensively both locally & nationally and has served as an investigator in several clinical trials. He is a licensed pharmacist in Ohio and South Carolina and is certified in Medication Therapy Management (MTM) by the AphA.
Dr. Hulisz currently practices as a clinical pharmacy specialist with University Hospitals Medical Group, Family Medicine Residency Program, where he works in consultation with family physicians, both on inpatient and outpatient services. Darrell has received multiple awards in areas such as excellence in didactic teaching, excellence in precepting, humanitarian work, interprofessional education and outstanding achievement.
Dr. Hulisz serves on several committees, teaches resident physicians, medical, pharmacy and physician assistant students in didactic and clinical settings. His areas of expertise include management of chronic pain, cardiovascular disease & diabetes. Other areas of expertise include psychopharmacology, substance abuse, geriatrics, mentoring, patient advocacy and community outreach. Dr. Hulisz has devoted most of his career to successful integration and collaboration of pharmacy and medical training in clinical settings.
