Program Overview

Prepare for a variety of careers in the pharmaceutical industry and adjacent settings with a unique program designed to reflect the interdisciplinary environment of this industry. The Department of Pharmacology serves as the home for the Master of Science in Translational Pharmaceutical Science (MSTPS) program, but you’ll benefit from the joint effort between ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½â€™s top-ranked School of Medicine, School of Law, Case School of Engineering, and Weatherhead School of Management.

In just two years, the curriculum covers four foundational pillars that are universal themes across all career opportunities in the pharmaceutical industry including:

  • Pharmaceutical Science Principles
  • Drug Development and Discovery
  • Translational Applications and Clinical Trials
  • Professional and Interpersonal Skills

Each student will be assigned a faculty advisor to help design your unique training experience beyond these core competencies, based on your career aspirations. Your advisor will guide you as you select your planned program of study or one of our three specialty tracks:

  • Pharmacology and Drug Discovery
  • Pharmaceutical Business and Law
  • Biostatistics and Bioinformatics

Finally, gain hands-on training when you complete a research experience, internship, or combination, which serves as the culminating experience for the MSTPS degree. This experiential learning opportunity will allow you to hone your skills so that upon graduation you are set up for success in your future careers.
