Beth Trecasa is the Associate Director of the Inamori International Center for Ethics and Excellence at ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ in Cleveland, Ohio. She also serves as the Senior Executive Editor of The International Journal of Ethical Leadership (IJEL) and Advisor for the ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ student organization GELS (Global Ethical Leaders Society). She served as the Acting Director of the Inamori Center from December 2021 to August 2022.
Trecasa first came to ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ in 2002 and served in various roles at the School of Medicine and the College of Arts and Sciences. From 2007 to 2013, she turned to service in the Cleveland community as Director of Program Operations and Grants Manager at the Center for Families and Children. Trecasa was principal investigator/project director for a $2M grant awarded by the Department of Health and Human Services to test models of care that may impact the early morbidity rates of individuals with severe and persistent mental illness by integrating preventive, primary care, and wellness services into community mental health centers. The project integrated on-site clinical and administrative systems in partnership with the Cleveland Clinic, Care Alliance Health Center, The Free Clinic, and Neighborhood Family Practice.
She returned to ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ and the College of Arts and Sciences in 2013 to serve as the Assistant Dean for Strategic Initiatives and eventually Chief Operations Officer. During that time, her portfolio included organizational and strategic planning; project and program development; grant and research development; organizational assessment and analytics; human resources; and administration of the ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ Summer Session program.
Trecasa formally joined the Inamori Center in 2019, but was already a campus partner to the Center due to her responsibilities at the College. Inamori Center Director Shannon E. French and Trecasa began collaborating at ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ in 2013 in the development of the College of Arts and Sciences strategic plan and in subsequent department-level strategic planning across the College. Both worked together on the development and implementation of the Cleveland Humanities Collaborative, a pathway partnership program between ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ and Cuyahoga Community College, for which Trecasa served as Co-Director. French and Trecasa also developed and implemented ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½â€™s new, and the country’s only, master’s degree program in military ethics in 2017.
