To Our Undergraduates:
As most of you know, ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ welcomed its largest-ever first-year class in August. At 1,606 students, the Class of 2025 is 23% larger than the one that preceded it. While the size of this increase was much greater than expected, it did align with the university’s overall plans to continue to grow enrollment.
In anticipation of another sizable incoming class this August, we will not be able to offer as many on-campus housing options for 2022-23 to rising upper-class students (i.e., current second-year students and above) as we have in other years. (NOTE: This version of the email has been updated to clarify the original version of the email.)
Based on prior experience, we expect that about 17% of interested upper-class students will not be able to live on campus. In response, we are slightly modifying our room-selection process to include a waiting list option for those unable to obtain a space during room selection, which will conclude April 5. We will refer to that waiting list as individual students’ plans for housing change in the spring and summer.
You will receive more detail information regarding room selection later this afternoon.
We realize that you may want to begin exploring your off-campus housing options now. Please visit our off-campus housing website for additional information. If you are considering moving off campus, please be sure to explore financial aid implications of that decision by consulting with the Office of Financial Aid.
We will continue to communicate often throughout the room-selection process. If you have specific questions, please do not hesitate to email housing@case.edu.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
