Research Interests

The Grissom Lab aims to re-invent conventional imaging techniques to maximize their information content and value. Our MRI research projects integrate advancements in radiofrequency (RF) pulses with novel RF coils and computation to complement or replace conventional B0 gradient encoding at ultra-high field and very low field strengths. We also work on funded projects to develop real-time MRI acquisitions and hardware for MR-guided focused ultrasound therapy, ultrasound neuromodulation to treat neuropathic pain, and robotic laser thermal therapy to treat epilepsy. Our work has been supported by grants from the NIH, the DoD, and the Focused Ultrasound Foundation. We have complementary imaging and medical robotics collaborators at ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½, Vanderbilt, Stanford, and Harvard Medical School.
