Clergyman Elijah Porter Barrows was a professor of sacred literature at Western Reserve College. He is credited with writing the hymn Hallelujah, Christ is Mine, which has been translated in multiple languages. Barrows authored 25 articles in the Bibliotheca Sacra, the oldest theological journal in the United States and edited the American Tract Society’s Bible with Notes.
