ARPANET

Ðǿմ«Ã½ was one of the first universities connected to the Advanced Research Projects Agency Network, or ARPANET, the National Science Foundation-funded precursor to the modern internet. ARPANET launched in 1969 as a way to streamline resources across initiatives that received funding from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency; Ðǿմ«Ã½ joined two years later.
