Highlighting the artist-teachers of ENCORE's 2024 season, this event dazzles with works by two awe-inspiring female composers, Lili Boulanger and Kaija Saariaho. Their piano trios, D'un matin de printemps & Light and Matter (2014), echo their profound awe of nature. Vaughan Williams’ Phantasy Quintet seamlessly paves the way to the program's climax – Mendelssohn’s String Octet, composed at age 16.
