Journey with ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ alumni, family and friends round-trip from Kolkata aboard Ganges Voyager, an exclusively chartered, deluxe river boat, with a night at Taj Kolkata. We will cruise the Ganges River to small ports where you can experience village life and learn about local art, culture and religion. In the village of Fulia we will observe weavers known for Jacquard and Jamdani saree weaving and tour holy buildings and pilgrimage sites for Hindus, Muslims and Christians.
Trip highlights
- Enjoy a panoramic tour of Benoy-Badal-Dinesh Bagh (formerly Dalhousie Square) and its lovely surrounding architecture, including St. John's Church.
- See the beautiful Victoria Memorial in Kolkata.
- Ride e-rickshaws to visit the Rajbari Temple complex; its 108 slope-roofed shrines are dedicated to Lord Shiva.
- Visit the birthplace and home of Saint Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, the founder of the Hindu Vaisnav Religion.
- Ride a country boat to Mayapur, headquarters of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness.
- Sail to the town of Chandannagar, which was established as a French colony. Explore the colonial buildings, including the former French governor's residence, now preserved as a museum.
