Dr. Angela Passarelli is an Associate Professor of the Practice of Management at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. She serves as Academic Director for the school’s co-curricular academic mission related to leadership, leader development, teamwork, and team development.
Dr. Passarelli is also co-investigator and coaching director for the CREW program (Coaching and Resources for Entrepreneurial Women) at the Medical University of South Carolina. Funded by the NIH, this program provides coaching, mentoring and traditional entrepreneurship education to promote innovation among women in the biomedical sciences. She is also the Director of Research for the Institute of Coaching at McLean Hospital, and a fellow of the Coaching Research Lab at ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½.
Dr. Passarelli’s research examines the dynamics of intentional change in leadership development; the process of experiential learning; and the role of developmental relationships in enhancing social and emotional competency in leaders. She is currently engaged in work that examines how executive coaching outcomes are shaped by characteristics of the individual being coached, the interaction between the coach and coachee, and competencies of the coach. She also studies the efficacy of coaching interventions for special populations, such as new working mothers and physicians.
Prior to joining Fuqua, Dr. Passarelli was a tenured professor at the College of Charleston (SC) where she founded the MBA leadership coaching program and led a team of faculty in designing one of the institution’s first doctoral programs. In addition to her academic training, she holds a Board Certified Coach (BCC) credential from the Center for Credentialing & Education.
