Stable housing gives people a foundation to succeed in recovery. The way you respond to and interact with residents can positively influence their future success. Use the new resources to build self-awareness about your attitudes, thoughts, and communication style as you conduct your work. Learn to keep your attention centered on residents. Learn how to encourage change. These new resources focus on three intervention strategies:
- Exploring Motivation to Change
- Creating a Culture of Work
- Benefits Advocacy (i.e., making informed choices about benefits and work)
Ohio Housing Initiative
The new resources are produced by the Center for Evidence-Based Practices at ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ and funded by the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (OhioMHAS) as part of its statewide initiative to improve housing outcomes among people with mental illness, addiction, and co-occurring disorders.
