CIP offers consultation, training and technical support to counties, organizations and community agencies on increasing the capacity to provide integrated care to youth and families dealing with the challenges of co-occurring disorders.
Our practice addresses the unique challenges of youth in recovery from both mental health and substance abuse and identifying interventions that best meet the individual needs of the youth.
Co-Occurring disorders in youth are heterogeneous in their nature, origin and symptom presentation even among youth with similar diagnoses. Mental health disorders in youth are emergent and often display overlapping symptoms across diagnostic categories, frequently presenting with externalizing patterns first, and exhibiting shorter histories than adult patterns.
