Alireza Nourani-Dargiri's research focuses primarily on the intersection of race and law, ranging from topics of cash bail, criminal sentencing, protesting, and issues with diversity in the legal profession. In addition to teaching the SJUS 100: Introduction to Social Justice course for ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ undergraduate students, Alireza is also the instructor for the Social Justice Law Center Reporter course at the School of Law.
Prior to joining SJI, Alireza clerked for Justice Melissa Hart at the Colorado Supreme Court. Alireza earned his B.A. in Political Science from the University of Texas at Dallas, his J.D. from the ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ School of Law, and became a Fellow at the ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ School of Law after earning his J.D. During his fellowship, he taught legal writing courses as well as a section of the school's Race, Law & Society course.
