Schubert Center Awarded $50,000 Grant from The George Gund Foundation

Cleveland Wall Murial

We are pleased to announce that the Schubert Center for Child Studies has been awarded a grant from the George Gund Foundation as part of its broader commitment to youth justice and restorative initiatives. This grant, totaling $150,000 over two years, was made as a collective impact grant in collaboration with the American Civil Liberties Union of Ohio (ACLU) and the Children's Law Center-Ohio office (CLC) and is a testament to the vital work undertaken by our Policy Director, Gabriella Celeste, on behalf of our center. Our collective partnership aims to catalyze change in the youth justice system within Cuyahoga County by advancing just policies. This includes fostering alternative pathways to incarceration through strategic community collaborations and combating the prevailing myths and stereotypes surrounding young people and youth crime with research-driven communications and youth voice.

This grant from the George Gund Foundation is not just an endorsement of our collective mission but also a recognition of the importance of amplifying the voices and experiences of those impacted by injustices in the juvenile and adult carceral systems. We are deeply committed to realizing restorative and transformative justice and, together with our partners at ACLU and CLC, are grateful for the foundation's support.
