Kimberly Burkhart, PhD is a licensed clinical psychologist in the Division of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics and Psychology, University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children's (RB&C) Hospital. She is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics with a second appointment in the Department of Psychiatry. She completed her residency and fellowship at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Burkhart's special interests in pediatric trauma, violence prevention and intervention, neurodevelopmental disorders, and behavior management.
Dr. Burkhart's publications focus on child maltreatment, bullying, parent training, integrated care, and violence prevention and intervention. She has presented at numerous national and regional conferences. Dr. Burkhart has been both a principal investigator and co-investigator on grants (e.g. Cleveland Foundation) related to establishing trauma-informed assessments and interventions in an integrated primary care setting, as well as in developing a behavioral health component to create the Pediatric Disaster Care of Excellence (funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (ASPR) and on COVID-19 related studies (funded by Ohio Job and Family Services).
Dr. Burkhart is a Research Faculty Associate of the Schubert Center for Child Studies.
