About the Program

Study statistical theory and methodology or zero in on entrepreneurship with a Master of Science in Statistics from ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½. Our program tracks provide substantive research opportunities, hands-on application of your learnings and rigorous coursework that’s all based on your mathematical interests. Whether you’re a practicing statistician looking to enhance your skill set while in the workforce or a student looking to continue on toward a PhD, our master’s program will prepare you for your career goals.

What to Expect

You’ll start your degree with core courses in theoretical statistics, data analysis and linear models, then transition to electives on a topic of your choice—adding up to at least 30 credit hours to complete your degree. Your degree culminates with either an applied research project or a thesis—but no matter what, you’ll work closely with a faculty mentor to produce work that’s ready for publication. If your goal is to teach or to do research, you have the option to apply for a graduate assistantship.

In addition to the traditional degree program, we also offer an entrepreneurial track in partnership with . This degree gives you real-world business savvy through opportunities such as an intensive one-week workshop that covers the industrial use of statistics from the management perspective.
