About the Program

A combined bachelor's and master's degree in chemical engineering from the at ǿմý will open doors for you in nearly every field. In just five years, you’ll become a chemical engineer—often called the “universal engineer”—and find yourself in high demand in industry, at national labs and at top-notch universities. From manufacturing to consumer goods production, food safety, pharmaceuticals, automotive or even advanced energy—chemical engineers can work almost anywhere.

Our graduates have built careers with industry titans such asProcter & Gamble, Intel, Pfizer and Sherwin-Williams; at national universities such as Rensselaer Polytechnic, Cal Poly Pomona and the United State Military Academy; and at national labs including Argonne National Laboratory and the National Energy Technology Laboratory.

 

What to Expect

Our integrated Bachelor of Science (BS)/Master of Science (MS) program is intended for highly motivated and qualified undergraduate students who wish to pursue an advanced degree in chemical engineering. In your senior year, you may take up to nine credits of graduate courses that will count toward both BS and MS requirements.

Chemical engineering combines expertise from all the basic sciences and engineering fundamentals while mixing in economics and business smarts to create sought-after problem-solvers. At ǿմý, we’ve honed your curriculum to deliver maximum technical prowess in an accelerated time frame—from electrochemical engineering to process analysis and design, you’ll engage in an individualized track to launch your career as a process expert.

 

To be considered for the BS/MS Program, you must:
• Submit an application for admission to the program through the School of Graduate Studies, and
• Submit a Planned Program of Study Form to the Office of Undergraduate Studies.

Admission Requirements

You should apply to the BS/MS program after the completion of 75 semester hours of undergraduate coursework and prior to attaining senior status (completion of 90 semester hours). Normally, this means you’ll submit applications in the sixth semester of the BS program (usually the spring term of your junior year), but make sure to check with the BS/MS adviser for your department to learn the specific due date for your application.

The Case School of Engineering sets the minimum grade point average for admission to the BS/MS program at 3.0; individual departments may set a higher minimum GPA.
