About the Program

This two-year program prepares students for careers as certified anesthesiologist assistants. CAAs are highly skilled allied health professionals who work under the direction of licensed anesthesiologists to implement care plans and who are integral members of the anesthesia care team. This is a growing field with high demand for our graduates.

What to Expect

Our full-time program starts in May each year in one of four locations: Cleveland, Houston, Austin or Washington D.C. Learning is clinically based and hands-on, with students beginning training in the operating room within one month of starting the program. Students participate in clinical rotations at one of more than 80 hospitals that work in partnership with the program.

"I love the balance of patient interaction and action in the operating room. We are a vital part of the patient experience while undergoing various procedures, and it gives a great sense of duty and purpose to my life and career."
