About the Program

Among the first of its kind, ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½â€™s Certificate in Aerospace Physiology certificate program combines the study of the physical and cognitive impacts of extreme environments upon individuals—developing foundational understandings of how the human body can withstand the challenges of both the aviation environment and outer space.

This program will prepare you for a career in aerospace physiology—or will enhance your knowledge if you’re already working in the field. Examples of related career opportunities include aerospace medicine physicians, research physiologists, operational physiologists, and aviation medical and mishap examiners.

What to Expect

Aerospace and healthcare are two of the fastest-growing industries in modern society. In response to rising demand, ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ has launched a new graduate-level Certificate in Aerospace Physiology.

Housed in our renowned School of Medicine, this 15-credit hour program can be completed in 12 months and offers full-and part-time study options. The program is offered in a synchronous, lecture/small group format that is both broadcast live and can be accessed from online recordings asynchronously. Our curriculum will help you gain a deeper understanding of characteristics of the atmosphere, acceleration and spatial disorientation, in addition to the physiology of decompression, thermoregulation, hypobarics, respiration and cardiovascular function.
