Dr. Cavallo is an educator and behavioral scientist who studies the use of emerging communications technologies to reduce obesity-related mortality and morbidity. He has expertise in the areas of technology development and the design, implementation and analysis of behavioral interventions. His current research focuses on examining the relationship between social media use and physical activity and dietary behaviors. Dr. Cavallo is passionate about public health nutrition and teaches several core courses in this area. Prior to Dr. Cavallo’s academic career, he worked for 10 years in the advertising sales industry, most recently holding the title of manager of new business development of National Public Broadcasting (now National Public Media)—the nation’s leading public broadcasting underwriting representative firm. When Dr. Cavallo is not teaching or writing grants and manuscripts, he loves to ride his bicycle, and is routinely outpaced by his eight-year-old daughter.
