The Dean's Scholars Program at ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ (ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½) School of Medicine for recent URP PhD graduates who are interested in a tenure-track academic position. The goal of this program is to foster the development of postdoctoral fellows from underrepresented backgrounds in medicine and science to faculty positions at ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½.
This structured postdoctoral curriculum is designed to prepare scholars for a successful transition to tenure-track faculty positions. The position can be held for up to five years and is meant to provide additional research and/or scholarly training in preparation for a position in academia.
The fellowship will provide a supplement to the post-doc stipend over and above the NIH standards of $5,000 for the first three years (Step 1) and $10,000 for years 4 and 5 (Step 2). The program will also provide the scholar with additional funds for the laboratory ($15,000 annually for Step 1 and $40,000 annually for Step 2).
