Glen Taksler, PhD, received a 5-year, $3M grant from National Institute on Aging for “Testing the Effectiveness of Individualized Disease Prevention for Middle-Aged Adults.”   The goal of the study is to help middle-aged adults make informed decisions about healthcare services, integrating a decision aid into electronic health records.

Daniel Ontaneda, MD, was a lead author on a study published in  Lancet Neurology  comparing conservative vs. aggressive early treatments in relapsing multiple sclerosis.

Mohamed Abazeed, MD, and colleagues discovered new genetic determinants of sensitivity to radiation therapy. Their findings were published in  Cancer Research .

Robin Jump, MD, PhD, an associate professor in the School of Medicine, offered insight into the body’s natural defense systems that help battle infections and illnesses—and how these immunity tools can become compromised with age and by chronic conditions.
