Biography
Janetta Brundage (she/her) is a PhD student in the department of Bioethics at ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½. Her research interests center on organ transplantation ethics including transplanting organs from donors with HCV viremia and allocation of organs to patients with alcohol-related liver disease. In 2024 she gave a talk at ASBH about her research on healthcare providers’ perspectives on early liver transplantation for alcohol-related liver disease.
Before coming to Case Western, Janetta worked as a research data analyst at the Johns Hopkins Transplant Research Center. Under the mentorship of Dr. Hannah Sung, Janetta worked on several projects including those relating to early liver transplantation, living organ donation from persons living with HIV, and the organ transplant evaluation process. Her work has been published in the following journals: Journal of Rheumatology, Patient Education and Counseling, Open Forum Infectious Diseases, Clinical Transplantation Reports, Biomolecules.
Janetta received a BS in Molecular Biology and a BPhil in Philosophy in 2021 from the University of Pittsburgh. She received her MA in Bioethics in 2022, also from the University of Pittsburgh.
