What is your undergraduate major?

Biology

Why did you decide to pursue an education in Bioethics and Medical Humanities?

I chose to pursue bioethics at ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ because of its interdisciplinary approach to the subject, which allows me to look at situations from medical but also legal, ethical, and philosophical perspectives. I also appreciate the variety in bioethics-related classes that the department holds, which allows for topic-focused bioethics discussions.

What has been the most impactful part of the program for you so far?

My favorite part of the program so far are how dedicated and committed my professors are to helping us learn. We have very interesting in-class discussions that I end up thinking about for the next few weeks and discussing at home with my roommates and family.

What are your plans for after graduation, and how do you plan to incorporate the knowledge and skills gained in this program with those goals?

After graduation, I plan to attend medical school. I think that taking bioethics classes changed the way I fundamentally think about and approach situations. In the future, when I am a practicing physician, this will help me make the best decisions possible for my patients.

If you could give yourself one piece of advise when you were considering this program, what would it be?

Jump into the program open-minded. Other people might have different opinions than you because they have a different perspective on life. That is okay! It warrants great discussion and is especially rewarding when you can come to a mutual understanding.

What is your favorite part about living and learning in Cleveland?

Coming from California, living and learning in Cleveland came as a big jump. But, I love it here. I made amazing friends and met faculty at Case that have completely changed the way I think. Cleveland itself is a big city, which allows me to keep exploring something new every day.
