This course will examine the major economic challenges confronting the U.S. today. This will include consideration of issues relating to the control of inflation; economic growth and jobs; the national debt; the funding of services including health care, Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security; tariffs and international trade. With respect to each issue, we will consider the views of traditional economists and the policies that are being implemented by the Trump administration. Finally, we will discuss the
question of what all of this portends for America’s economic future.
