POSITION DESCRIPTION. Working under occasional supervision, the Library Assistant 4 operates as a library specialist within the Knowledge and Creativity Commons. Work is subject to review within guidelines. Advanced knowledge of functional area policies and procedures is expected at this level with the ability to take responsibility for the unit in the absence of more senior staff. The library assistant 4 supervises students; hires, schedules, and trains staff and temporary employees; and manages workflows and oversees technical processing for interlibrary loan services.
This role requires availability during daytime and weekdays, specifically from Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. Must be flexible to adjust the work schedule to accommodate changes in operational hours, including evenings, weekends, over university breaks, summers, and holidays to fulfill staffing requirements.

The Kelvin Smith Library is the knowledge and creativity commons of ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ and part of a library system with over three million titles in print and digital formats. KSL is home to the University Archives and Special Collections and manuscripts consisting of over 17,000 linear feet, the Kulas Music Collection, and the Freedman Center for Digital Scholarship which advances research by partnering with scholars and students to explore and develop new forms of scholarship. KSL is a member of the Association of Research Libraries (ARL), OhioLINK, the Coalition for Networked Information (CNI), HathiTrust, and the Center for Research Libraries. QUALIFICATIONS. High school education and 4 years of relevant experience, associate degree and 1 year of relevant experience, or a bachelor’s degree.
SALARY. This position is an LA4 with a minimum of $36,566. The salary will be offered to commensurate with qualifications and experience.
