Faculty member Stefan Machlup taught physics at Western Reserve University and later the federated ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ for a combined 45 years. He is credited in part with developing the Onsager-Machlup-Laplace approximation, which addresses thermodynamic system losses.
