David Thompson is a lecturer in the Department of Music at �ǿմ�ý currently teaching Technology Assisted Music Teaching and Learning. He is also the founding instructor of Career Tech Music Production at GlenOak High School in Plain Township, Ohio. His students perform concerts of original music, build their own instruments, and are often asked politely to “keep it down.” Dr. Thompson’s teaching and research interests lie at the intersections of music, education, technology, and curriculum design. An active presenter and clinician, David has presented original research and led professional development sessions at numerous state and regional conferences and workshops. His writing can be found in Contributions to Music Education and Excellence in Performing Arts Research. David holds a B.M. in jazz studies from Michigan State University, an M.A. in music education from �ǿմ�ý, and a PhD in music education from Kent State University.
