Commonplace books have long been used as tools for recording significant ideas, interesting quotations, and observations. In this session, Professor Wendy Hyman of Oberlin College will present a history of commonplace books, discuss their relevance and value in the twenty-first century, and offer practical advice on beginning and maintaining a commonplace book today. In-person attendees will have the opportunity to engage in a hands-on workshop at the conclusion of the presentation, and a complimentary lunch will be provided for the first twenty registrants.
