Why internships matter

There’s a special kind of magic that happens when you put what you’ve learned in the classroom to work in the real world. Internships give you real-life experience that makes all those ideas you’ve been learning about more tangible. Often it’s through internships that you start to see more clearly what your future holds.

At , you’ll get that chance to immerse yourself in your career. Nearly 70% of ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ students complete at least one internship, and at some incredibly cool places.

Check out the internships recently held by these ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ students
in the arts, humanities and social sciences:

  • Economics major Becky Schneirov interned at The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, where she conducted data analysis and statistical tests and learned about what it’s like to be a research assistant at the Fed.
  • Jaya Patten, who’s studying political science and women's and gender studies, interned with Equality Ohio, assisting with education and advocacy initiatives and planning programs supporting LGBTQ+ rights and issues.
  • Philosophy and sociology major Cielle Brady interned at East End Neighborhood House, creating leadership and personal development programs for African American young adults and providing social services for families and community members across a variety of ages.
  • Campbell Dukes, a theater and English major, completed an internship at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame (the one and only!) in the fan engagement department. 🎸

At ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½, your experiences in and out of the classroom will combine to prepare you for a BIG future. Your resume will POP, your grad school applications will sing, and you’ll be immensely prepared to meet (and exceed) your goals. I can’t wait to see all you do.
