From the time you arrive at ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ as a first-year student, you’ll be a real nurse.
We know that being a confident and capable nurse and a healthcare leader takes experience. So we don’t make you wait to jump in with both feet.
Let’s look at what to expect in your first semester as a ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ nursing student:
- Clinical experience: Before your first semester is over, you’ll be gaining experience in local hospitals and healthcare centers, working with real patients and their families. By graduation, you’ll have more than 1,000 hours of clinical experience under your belt. That’s nearly twice as much as the national average.
- Nursing coursework: You’ll take classes in biology, anatomy and physiology, nursing fundamentals and evidence-based wellness practices in state-of-the-art facilities.
- Research: More than 60% of ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ nursing students take part in research and creative endeavors, starting their first semester. Participating in research gives you a scientific look at health and wellness in our society and beyond.
- Student organizations: Gain a deeper understanding of the nursing profession and meet new friends in student groups like the Undergraduate Student Nurses Association, Global Medical Brigades (an organization that takes healthcare to economically disadvantaged countries) and Love Your Melon (a club that provides support to pediatric cancer patients).
You’re ready to be a nurse who will lead the future of healthcare. And at ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½, you will be. Starting immediately.
We are grateful for your continued interest in ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ and will continue to stay connected with you during the coming weeks
